Why Rhode Island isn't live yet

Telehealth in the United States is regulated state by state. A physician must hold an active medical license in the patient's state at the time of the visit. SwiftCareMD is intentionally expanding one state at a time so every note we sign is fully compliant and verifiable. We are actively working on Rhode Island licensure.

What you get when we launch in Rhode Island

  • One flat $34.99 fee. No insurance, no copays, no subscriptions.
  • Board-certified physician. Every note will be reviewed and signed by a board-certified MD or DO licensed in Rhode Island, with a verifiable NPI and license number.
  • Same-day delivery. Most notes are emailed within 4–6 hours of intake.
  • No appointment, no waiting room. Fill out a short intake form from anywhere in Rhode Island — store-and-forward telehealth, reviewed asynchronously.

Whether you live in Providence, Warwick and Cranston, or one of Rhode Island's smaller towns, you'll be the first to know once we launch. Rhode Island's capital is Providence, but you'll never need to travel — the entire visit happens online once we go live.

Rhode Island doctors note — FAQ

Can I get a SwiftCareMD doctors note in Rhode Island today?

When will SwiftCareMD be available in Rhode Island?

We are actively expanding our physician network and Rhode Island is on our roadmap. We do not publish exact launch dates because state licensure timelines vary, but everyone on the Rhode Island waitlist is notified before public launch.

Why isn't SwiftCareMD available in Rhode Island yet?

Each U.S. state requires a physician to hold an active state-issued medical license to practice telehealth there. Our network is currently licensed in 41 states plus Washington, D.C., and we add new states as our physicians complete the licensure process. Rhode Island is on the list.

What are my options for a doctors note in Rhode Island right now?

Join the Rhode Island waitlist so you hear from us first. In the meantime, an in-person visit with a Rhode Island-licensed clinician (primary care, urgent care, or telehealth services already operating in Rhode Island) is the standard option for a same-day doctors note.

Need a doctors note today?

If you're in Rhode Island but currently outside the state — for example, traveling or temporarily living in one of the 41 states (plus D.C.) where we're already licensed — you can still get a doctors note today from the state you're physically in. See where SwiftCareMD is available.
